Proposed CD Changes


Editor’s Note: Dario Dimare is proposing a number of changes for CD assignments and is seeking public comment about them. His ideas were made public in late October, after our November issue had gone to press. Since then  been made.


Among initial recommendations were that the CD 102 Hemingray become a CD 104. That the CD 124.1 become a CD 104. That the CD 112 California variant with no ridge become a CD 114. That the CD 701.1 become a CD 700. Altogether Dario proposed a dozen-and-a-half changes. He is hopeful decisions can be made in time to be incorporated into Don Briel’s next Price Guide.


Discussions have advanced so far that we feel it would be best if our readers  hobby and we encourage anyone with strong feelings about this topic to participate.

Book Review


Kovel’s is out with its 2019 Price Guide for Collectibles. The thick paperback contains in excess of 500 pages of information on subjects like antique Advertising, Furniture, Glass, Jewelry, Kitchen Items, Porcelain, Toys, Sewing and Tools.


The book contains 2,500


photographs of items and more than 16,000 prices.


The section on insulators is very brief, so it wouldn’t be your best buy for the subject of our favorite collectible. But if you want or need a reference for collectibles in general, this 51st Edition of the Kovel’s Price Guide might serve your needs. Or, it might make a good Christmas present for someone on your list.


Barnes & Noble, Target and Walmart are among the brick-and-mortar stores carrying the book with prices ranging  
