LE NAMASTE, COURCHEVEL, FRANCE This ski-in, ski-out chalet beside the Bellecote piste is one of the leading private homes in Courchevel 1850 and joins the Consensio portfolio from this winter. This chocolate-box-pretty chalet was once the summer retreat of Baroness Thatcher and sleeps eight adults and four children. The spa facilities include an indoor pool, massage room and sauna.

LIMELIGHT HOTEL, KETCHUM, US Sun Valley was the first purpose- built resort in the US and Aspen’s popular Limelight hotel last season extended its portfolio to include an unfussy but luxury property in Ketchum with 93 rooms and six suites. A full breakfast is included in the room rate and there’s live music for après-ski, which includes free pizza nibbles.

DEPLAR FARM, ICELAND Set in the remote Fljot Valley in the mountainous Troll Peninsula, this former sheep farm is now a luxury hideaway and one-stop-shop for adventurers. There are 13 en suite bedrooms, Icelandic cuisine, a private helicopter for skiing and fly fishing, skidoos, cat skiing, a gym and treatment rooms, plus indoor and outdoor thermal pools.

CLUB MED SAMÖENS, FRANCE This new four-trident ski resort (only one hour and 15 minutes from Geneva airport) is the perfect short- haul ski destination for families. The 400-room ski-in, ski-out resort will offer guests access to over 150 miles of skiing across Samöens, Morillon, Les Carroz and Flaine and a natural ski park in Sixt Fer a Cheval.

STAR ARCTIC HOTEL, SAARISELKA, FINNISH LAPLAND A new luxury hotel opens this December at the top of the Kaunispää Mountain (Beauty Hill) in Saariselkä, which is 168 miles north of the Arctic Circle. The hotel is just 15 miles from Ivalo International Airport (offering direct flights this winter to Gatwick) and will be offered by Inghams.
