ACTION AND ADRENALIN Where: Réunion Why: The thermals around Réunion island’s volcanic calderas are a hit with paragliders, hangliders and skydivers, and its craggy volcanic interior is popular with hikers, climbers and canyoning fans. Rafting and cycling are also big, while the brooding presence of Piton de la Fournaise, one of the world’s most active volcanoes, adds a further frisson to proceedings.
