ABU DHABI

TAKE NEW UAE COURSE

A new UAE training programme aims to teach agents about the differences between the seven emirates. The Abu Dhabi module on the OTT programme teaches the trade about landmarks and key attractions such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Etihad Towers and the Corniche, as well as Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Marina Circuit.

It also details the

various sporting events and activities held in the emirate such as the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and Mubadala World Tennis Championship. Another key focus is the culinary offering in Abu Dhabi. The training also

educates agents on the top tours on offer, such as speedboat rides and desert excursions. The first 100 agents to

complete the course by March 31 will be entered into a prize draw to win a pair of tickets to the UAE. ONLINETRAVELTRAINING.COM

ABOVE: Arabian Nights Village LEFT: A late-afternoon camel trek

activities available at the Arabian Nights Village, nestled in the dunes an hour’s drive from the city. In the middle of the desert, I felt as if I was thousands of miles from anywhere, but I’m sure even those that far away would have heard my screams on my next adrenaline-junkie adventure – dune bashing. I have to confess that I’m a huge wimp. And the Spanish couple who shared the 4x4 with me soon learnt that, as I screamed, yelped and shouted profanities for the entire 20-minute journey. I was a nervous wreck clambering out of the car, and I don’t think my heartbeat had slowed by the time I was on top of a camel striding around the desert. The experience begins late in the afternoon, but continues past sunset,

My first trip to the UAE certainly won’t

be my last. SHANGRI-LA HOTEL QARYAT AL BERI
