Projektziel war – ausgehend vom kulturellen Kontext und dem ökologischen Einsatz des heimischen Naturprodukts – eine Marke zu entwickeln, deren Produkte mit regionalen Werk- stätten sowie öffentlich-sozialen Einrichtungen in Niedersachsen entstehen und den Erhalt kultureller Vielfalt fördern.


Das entwickelte Verfahren greift den natürlichen Entstehungsprozess der Mooreiche auf, überträgt ihn auf verarbeitungsfertiges Eichenholz und durchzieht es mit dem markanten, für Moore typischen Tiefschwarz. Der zum Vergütungsprozess benötigte Moorschlamm kann wiederverwendet werden und stellt eine Alternative zu chemischen Färbemitteln dar.

Wie sieht die Zukunft des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs auf der Kieler Förde aus? „CAPTin_Kiel“ steht für Clean Autonomous Public Transport. Das Projekt entwickelt mit der Kombination von sauberem Bus- und Fährverkehr eine autonome Mobilitätskette. Neben wissenschaftli- chen Partnern hat eine Vielzahl an Akteuren aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Politik und Ver- waltung dazu beigetragen, eine Projektskizze für eine autonome Verbindung zwischen West- und Ostufer der Förde zu entwickeln. Innerhalb des Projektes wurden zwei unterschiedliche Konzepte mit den Namen „Floating Platform“ und „Passage“ von den Masterstudierenden gestaltet.

Aus der Jurybegründung: Die Kombination aus Mobilitätskonzept, Technologie und Leichtig- keit der Ästhetik, die Komplexität minimiert, überzeugt. Das Leitmotiv der Gestalter „Wenn ich nach Kiel komme, dann muss ich unbedingt mit der neuen Fähre fahren!“ wurde konge- nial umgesetzt!

In Deutschland leiden rund 80.000 Menschen an einer stark eingeschränkten Nierenfunkti- on. Der Großteil dieser Patienten wird mit der sogenannten Hämodialyse behandelt. „Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, die stationäre Hämodialyse flexibler und mobiler zu gestalten, um sie individuell in das Leben des Patienten zu integrieren?“ Unter dieser Leitfrage wurde „pure“ als mobile Dialysemaschine entwickelt. Der Patient kann die Behandlung selbstbestimmt und eigenverantwortlich durchführen. Die Dialysemaschine wird mit Hilfe eines ergonomischen Tragesystems direkt am Körper getragen und erlaubt dem Nutzer größtmögliche Bewegungs- freiheit.


Aus der Jurybegründung: Der Entwurf trägt wesentlich zur Erhöhung der Lebensqualität bei. Die eingesparte Zeit im Krankenhaus von dreimal wöchentlich fünf Stunden und die Unab- hängigkeit vom Standort bedeuten für die Patienten einen ungeheuren Zugewinn an persön- licher Freiheit.

Taking the cultural context and environmentally-friendly use of a local natural product as its foundation, the aim of the project was to develop a brand whose products would be created in collaboration with regional workshops and publicly funded social welfare organisations in Lower Saxony and would promote the preservation of cultural diversity.


The method that was developed draws on the natural process by which bog oak is created, transferring it to oak timber that is ready to be worked, and permeating this with the strik- ing deep black typical of the peat bog. The bog mud that is needed for the process can be reused and is an alternative to chemical stains.


The jury’s assessment: The project is more than an exciting examination of regional tradi- tions, sustainability and innovative experimentation with materials. A high degree of design quality has been achieved that combines both old and new design language to result in a delicate aesthetic expression.
