CRYSTALS IMPLEMENTED NATURALLY
BC Tech from Croatia presented new ways of applying their Biocrystal mixture into a wide range of products. Thanks to advances in technology, Biocrystal can be ground into particles less one micron in size, which makes it easily implementable into the likes of textile fi bre for yarn production. Other application methods were also presented, such as foam and thread. FIGHTING FATIGUE
Schattdecor’s new Quzhou printing facility, their 18th worldwide,
operations last month. Construction work on the adjacent buildings is scheduled to be completed imminently. The surface specialist built the new facility in response to limitations on capacity at the Shanghai plant, which had been producing at full capacity for some time. CEO Roland Auer said: “We are seeing strong demand for printed decor paper in Asia, so it was only logical to invest in another location. This allows us to expand our local

capacities and offer a comprehensive range of products from the two printing facilities, along with impregnation in Huanggang and our Kingdecor joint paper venture in Quzhou.
“By opening this new location, we have created the ideal conditions to respond to the dynamic growth we are seeing in China and Asia.” Initially, the plant will be equipped with two four-foot printing machines. Two other machines are already in production and both are scheduled to be fully operational towards the end of this year.

Atlanta Attachment Company has unveiled a pair of work stations designed to help reduce operator fatigue and boost productivity. The border boxing workstation for sewing seat cushion covers can signifi cantly reduce downtime when changing width, weight and fabric. Also on display was a fl anger for mattress panel production that automatically cuts and re-inserts the fl ange. “Today’s operators demand superior ergonomics and ease of use, and our customers want improved
productivity, so these newest machines are a win-
win,” said Hank Little, president. “They reduce operator fatigue and allow factories to quickly adapt to manufacturing changes.
“Both of these new workstations allow the operator to focus on sewing, so they are not distracted by the need for constant adjustments. “This
