Ideas for Cross-Curricular Links and Interdisciplinary Literacy
Subject Integration This section provides guidance and ideas for suggested cross-curricular links over a two-week period. The suggestions have been designed in accordance with the theme for the fortnight.
Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)
This series promotes the use of language integration between the two languages and indeed across the other curricular areas. As the themes for the units are based on the Gaeilge themes, a bank of foclóir for that theme is provided. It is envisaged that teachers will teach the same Gaeilge theme as those outlined in this series in the same fortnight/month. In this way, teachers can maximise the integration opportunities afforded to them by linking opportunities to use new vocabulary and foclóir across the subjects. A suggested opportunity for CLIL is presented in each unit.
