Character Description: Role on the Wall Oral Language: Understanding: LO 5 (vocabulary – use words and phrases to describe a character).
‘Role on the Wall’ is a fun and active way of exploring a specific character from a story. • A large outline of the character is displayed on the wall or whiteboard.
• The children call out adjectives to describe Baby Brains and the teacher records these using the downloadable template (see downloadable materials for Unit 3). The teacher can add to these to build vocabulary.
• The children could also be challenged to come up with adjectives to describe how Baby Brains felt throughout the story.
• Feelings could be recorded inside the template and the other adjectives could be recorded on the outside.
