As the defi nition says, drama is a type of fi ction that is performed by actors on stage, television or radio. You may have seen a live drama performance in school or in the theatre, or you might have seen drama in the form of a soap opera on TV.

In groups of three, write down the names of all the plays and their playwrights that you can think of in three minutes – for example, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Your group gets one point for every play you can think of and another point if you correctly name the playwright. You may write down several plays by the same playwright if you know them.
