Imagine that you work with an ad agency. A pet food company, Petamix, has asked your agency to create a one-minute TV advertisement for its new dog food. Using the plotting of ‘The Little Duck’ as a guide, plot a fi ve- or six-part story that could be turned into a TV advert. For example:
1 Buddy the dog hears a noise outside. He runs straight
to the window to see if his owners have come home. It’s just a delivery van.
3 Buddy plays games with his shadow. He throws the ball
around. He hits the remote control and listens to music.
5 He is sad and falls asleep. He wakes up to the word,
‘Surprise!’
6 His owners are there with lots of birthday treats,
including a bowl of his favourite food, Petamix.
2 He looks at the clock – another hour has
gone by.
4 He looks at the clock again – still no one home.
