As you may not know everyone in your class very well, let’s do an ‘ice-breaker’ exercise.
❍ Write down three statements about yourself. Two must be true and one must be false. You don’t need to say anything too personal, but make your statements as interesting as possible. For example:
I can speak three
languages. I am a vegetarian.
I have represented my country in swimming.
❍ Working with a classmate you don’t know very well, read each other’s statements. Guess which two are true and which one is false.
❍ Now reveal to each other which statements are true and which one is false.
❍ Write down the two true statements about your classmate and then double-check that you have them right.
❍ Now use them to introduce your classmate to the rest of the class!
After everybody has been introduced to the class by their classmate, and working in pairs again, you have fi ve minutes to write down as many facts as you can remember about as many of your classmates as possible. You get one point for every correct fact. See which pair gets the most points!
