CUCKOO FARM

inns, hotels, clubs, farm shops and individuals. The farmhouse itself is a

fascinating, low impact, recently built straw bale, cob, oak framed property with a traditional thatched roof, designed to incorporate many new sustainable technologies. Heating and hot water are supplied by solar power and wood burning stoves, with water direct from their own borehole. Cosy and comfortable inside, the exterior belongs in a children’s fairy tale! Multiple generations of the family, holding a vision of ‘putting the heart back into the land’ have worked towards a style of regenerative farming. “We still have a big vision for

the farm, but we are fortunately content with small steps. After all, we truly believe that ‘small is beautiful’!” Sadly, a challenge no-one could

have foreseen is COVID so many of the activities planned for Cuckoo Farm are on hold – glamping in a Shepherds Hut, camping or wild woodland camping, craft workshops from hedge laying to felting using wool from their flock of Jacob Sheep, bushcraft to strawbale building; drum making to mindfulness in nature. The variety on offer is hugely
