DARTMOUTH & KINGSWEAR JUBILEE EVENTS Thursday 2 June

Sunday 5 June All day


Local uniformed groups will gather at Beth’s on Coronation Park for a Procession along the Embankment, arriving at Royal Avenue Gardens for the opening ceremony.


3pm 3.30pm Time TBC:


Platinum Jubilee Opening Ceremony. From the Bandstand in Royal Avenue Gardens, a reading of the National Proclamation by Dartmouth Town Crier, Les Ellis, accompanied by Peter the Piper playing Diu Regnare as a tribute to HM The Queen. With Street Party seating, a local charity will sell refreshments from the tea hut.


Dartmouth Caring & the Rotary Club to host Afternoon Tea for invited guests in Market Square.


Official ribbon cutting and plaque unveiling of new Trees at Dartmouth Orchard, by the Captain of BRNC and hosted by Friends of the Orchard. Planted as Dartmouth’s contribution to the Queen’s Green Canopy.


Afternoon After dark


The Big Jubilee Picnic on Coronation Park, a free family day out with music, including children’s entertainers Elfic and Professor Bumble, Dartington Morris Men, Walking Rugby and Bouncy Play(chargeable). Refreshments available, including a BBQ.


Music and entertainment in Royal Avenue Gardens, put on by the community for the community, with a local charity selling refreshments from the tea hut. Floodlighting of BRNC.

KINGSWEAR Thursday 2 June 2.30pm


After dark


Leaving BRNC, a Torchlit Procession will proceed around the town, returning to the former putting green on Coronation Park for the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon at 9.45pm, part of the national lighting of beacons. Refreshments available on Coronation Park.


Floodlighting of BRNC to celebrate where the Queen first met her Prince in 1939.


Friday 3 June All day


10am - 4pm Jubilee Arts Fair in the Flavel. Afternoon


3pm 6 - 8pm Jubilee Market in the Market Square.

Platinum Jubilee Proclamation A reading of the National Proclamation by Dartmouth Town Crier, Les Ellis, on Kingswear Village Hall main steps.


Beacon Lighting Ceremony at Fountain Violet Farm. A Piper will play Diu Regnare as a tribute to HM The Queen at 9.35pm, followed by the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon at 9.45pm. Refreshments available.


Friday 3 June Time TBC


St Paul’s Cathedral Service of Thanksgiving. Live stream event at Kingswear Village Hall, with Cream Tea and Prosecco served. Free of charge but booking required*.


Saturday 4 June 3-5pm


St Saviour’s Church to lead a celebratory choir service in the Bandstand, supported by BRNC Chaplaincy.


‘Queen’s Tea Party’at Kingswear Village Hall for senior citizens of Kingswear Parish. Afternoon Tea, old-time music and sing-a-long. Free but booking required*.


After dark


Cruise on Paddle Steamer ‘Kingswear Castle’ with pickup from Dartmouth Town Jetty at 6pm and Kingswear from 5.45pm. Tickets £20*. Music from Missin’ Tackle, bar onboard but guests invited to bring own food. Proceeds to the Jubilee Bell Fund, St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Kingswear.

Saturday 4 June All day


Afternoon Time TBC 6pm tbc


Jubilee Market in the Market Square, followed by an Asian Fusion food event with music from 7pm (tickets from Jenny Koo).


Music and entertainment in Royal Avenue Gardens, put on by the community for the community, with a local charity selling refreshments from the tea hut.


Black Tie Event in the Guildhall, with 3-course meal and DJ. Tickets £65, with proceeds to Children’s Hospice South West. (if insufficient tickets sold, this event will be cancelled on Friday 13th May 2022).


7pm - 10.30pm BRNC Event with live bands, bar, BBQ and fireworks. Tickets* £10 adults, £5 under 16s (accompanied only). Note: Priority to Dartmouth & Kingswear residents (proof of address required), no parking at BRNC (blue badge only) . Floodlighting of BRNC.


Live screening at The Flavel – Platinum Party at the Palace. Tickets £20 to includes glass of prosecco and afternoon tea. Dress to impress and bar open. Tickets from The Flavel.


After dark


Sunday 5 June 10.30am Jubilee Church Service at the St Thomas of Canterbury Church, followed by refreshments.


12-4pm


The Big Jubilee Picnic on Jubilee Park. A family day out with children’s entertainers Elfic and Professor Bumble, Dartington Morris Men, Brixham Town Band. To include a fancy dress and cake competition and a dog show. Bring your own picnic.


Also join our Best Dressed House in Kingswear Competition!


DITTISHAM Sunday 5 June 12noon


The Big Jubilee Lunch on the Ham. Seated event with ‘bring your own’ lunch.


*TICKETS: unless otherwise stated, Dartmouth event tickets are via the DTC Office at the Guildhall and Kingswear event tickets via www. kingswearparishcouncil.gov.uk or by registering interest at Kingswear Post Office or Village Store.
