HEART OF DARTMOUTH PROMOTION The Council’s recent successful bid to secure £50,000 of government support (see opposite) included £5,000 to be spent on generic business support. Research has suggested that businesses located away from the main thoroughfares in town feel that they miss out on much needed footfall. So, the council is putting together a promotional campaign to raise awareness amongst visitors of the fabulous variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés to be found tucked away in Dartmouth side streets. Under the banner of Heart of Dartmouth, a series of short promotional videos will be created to showcase these less visible businesses. While the promotion is aimed at visitors, it is hoped that this campaign may also encourage residents to support and visit all our wonderful local businesses, especially in the run up to Christmas.
ARG FUNDING FOR BUSINESSES Under this scheme there is £45,000 of grants and funding available to qualifying businesses in the Dartmouth. Details can be found at
www.dartmouthtowncouncil.gov. uk/2021/11/08/8100/ or by contacting the Council offices. Please check with the Council to see if the scheme has been extended beyond its original closing date and then please consider applying. There is no formal process initially and any of the councillors named in the article can help you with further information.
