business last summer. Then, during the many lockdowns, the showroom was able to come together for the grand opening in April.
C
Dunne has been in kitchens since he left school and has over 35 years of experience, while Gokcen is relatively new to the industry, but has a background in technology. Birkdale is an affluent area with one of the
world’s top golf courses located just a few minutes away. The showroom has seven displays,
one from Symphony and six from Leicht, including a utility room and a bespoke connected kitchen. Gokcen says: “We are trying to make the
showroom future-proof in terms of what is out there in the local area. Responses I get from customers or people in the industry are positive about the quality of the showroom and our unique features. Our ambition was to make this the best showroom in the North-West, if not further.” Turning right as you enter the store takes you past a fully working kitchen with the Leicht wooden Valais door. Next is another modern kitchen with a bold orange splashback. Hidden behind turquoise doors is a utility room. At the back of the showroom are the offices for the designers, which gives them an element of privacy but still allows them to look out over the showroom. Opposite that is a large table customers can use to examine samples and meet the team. Continuing around the showroom is the

kitchen from British brand Symphony. The bold pink shade and the classic chandelier make the display stand out from the other German designs.
Opposite is a contrasting Leicht display with matt black and wooden doors. At the heart of the showroom is the smart-home experience centre. This is such a special feature, it even has it’s own room, which can be accessed through a sliding door.
The dark kitchen inside comes alive with illuminations and has a futuristic feel, which is appropriate as it features so many smart appliances and functions.
Dunne explains: “All the appliances in
the room are from Siemens and can all be operated via voice control. This is in line with all the current trends that we see at the moment. It also shows the customer the different possibilities.” You complete the loop of the space with two other colourful kitchens in the showroom window. A yellow kitchen plays with colours and textures with a mix of wooden and glass doors. The front display has a variety of stunning features, such as an illuminated worktop and luxury appliances. Eight out of 10 sales have been of the German brand Leicht, which is in line with how much space the displays take up in the showroom. Gokcen describes the process of choosing the displays and suppliers: “We wanted to have a mix of ultra-modern, but also traditional. “We went with mostly German displays because there are more options for design. But, we know that the English kitchen is still desirable in this area.”
