I EDITOR’S COMMENT
MARKETING: IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU
t doesn’t matter if you’re a well-established KBB retailer or a recent start-up, you need a marketing strategy that gets the right message across to the right people.
In challenging times, getting to grips with, and staying on top of, the many aspects of marketing can be tricky. So we’ve asked a range of industry experts for their top tips to help retailers perfect their strategy and ensure they reach their target audience – now, and in the future.
As well as advice from our regular expert contributors, we’ve also put together an in-depth analysis with everything you need to know to build a focused, targeted marketing strategy to ensure you stay ahead of the competition (pages 55-62). In the product section, we’ve turned the spotlight on the growing market for outdoor kitchens. This is one of the positive outcomes of the pandemic, which has kicked off a huge shift in behaviour and lifestyle requirements. You can read all about how to make the most of the opportunities in this area of the market on pages 30-34. Elsewhere, we talk to the owners of new kitchen showroom Baymoor Interiors in Devon. What’s particularly interesting about this company is that it was started by two experienced fi tters who saw an opportunity to offer something more (pages 64-67). Finally, a reminder that, thanks to overwhelming demand – anyone would think you’d all been stuck indoors for the past 18 months – we’ve moved the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2021 to a bigger venue.
Getting to grips with the many aspects of marketing can be tricky
The event, which will still take place on September 15, will now be held in the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. Although the new venue has a larger capacity, it’s not unlimited, so if you
want to be there, you’ll have to get in quick and book your seat. All the details can be found at
www.kbbreview.com/awards. I hope to see many of you there and, as always, your feedback on these, and any other, industry-related issues is most welcome.
