Siminetti, a luxury Mother of Pearl surfaces manufacturer, is expanding into the KBB sector with the appointment of brand ambassador Lucy Spencer. Simon Powell, founder and chief executive of Siminetti, said: “The appointment of a KBB-focused brand ambassador has long been part of the company’s growth strategy and we could not be more pleased than having Lucy take up the role.” Spencer has been working as an independent interior design consultant, with specialist artisans, interior des igners and construction companies.

IPG GARY MATTHEWS


IPG, the independent members group for plumbing, heating and bathroom specialists, has welcomed Gary Matthews as its new commercial director. During his 30-year career, Matthews has worked with a variety of brands, including Grohe, Ideal Stan- dard and Mira. In his new role, he will be responsible for engaging IPG suppliers, supporting members’ needs and contributing to the next stage of the group’s growth plans. Robin Beal, IPG chairman, said: “We are delighted to have Gary on board. He has a real passion for our membership success.”

SIMON MANWARING AND MARTIN JOHNSON


Vitra has appointed two new area sales managers as the bathroom company gears up for a busy 2021. Simon Manwaring (pictured) will be covering the South-East, while Martin Johnson will be focusing on the South- West. Manwaring was previously a specification manager for Kohler Mira and has many years’ experience in the bathroom industry working for brands like Aqualisa, Manhattan Showers and most recently Aquadart. Johnson has a range of experience including showroom sales and distribution.

WHIRLPOOL PAUL DAVIS


Paul Davis has been appointed as contract channel manager for Whirlpool UK Appliances. With over 35 years’ experience in the appliance industry and nine years with Whirlpool UK, he has an impressive amount of knowledge to bring to his new role. Davis said: “The contract channel is such an important area of an appliance manufacturer’s business and I am pleased to be working closely with house builders once again. My previous experience means I have worked on both sides of the fence, so I understand house builders’ needs.”

MEREWAY GROUP ED NORRIS


Ed Norris, part of Mereway Group’s founding family, has been appointed as national sales and development manager for Mereway Bathrooms. He joins the management team from a law firm with a specific remit to help drive growth. In his new role, he will take responsibility for customer service, sales development and product innovation. Michelle Nokes, managing director of Mereway Bathrooms said: “As a family business, it is wonderful to see the next generation of the founding family taking an active role in the company.”

DARREN BEDFORD


Darren Bedford is the new national sales manager for Lakes. He will be supporting growth and relationships with Lakes’ customers. Bedford has 20 years’ experience within the industry. He said: “I’m excited to be joining the Lakes team at such a pivotal time in the industry. There are fantastic opportunities for us to grow sales even further through our merchants network and, by helping them to embrace the additional scope in a post-lockdown world through Lakes Online Showrooms, together we can achieve great things.”
