HEALTHCARE ESTATES
‘State-of-the-art’ modular healthcare facilities
ModuleCo Healthcare (MCH) is a leading provider of ‘state-of-the-art’ modular facilities for NHS Trusts UK-wide. It said: “We help design the ideal facility
for our clients to meet their clinical needs, whether it’s a modular theatre, ward, or outpatient department. Our team works diligently to bring these requirements to life.”
MCH says it is ‘a specialist in providing
unique, flexible hire and VAT-recoverable managed service solutions that enable NHS Trusts to address clinical capacity issues, providing access to state-of- the-art facilities without requiring the significant upfront capital which can be difficult to obtain’. It explained: “Our Managed Service Agreement can be designed to include all associated project costs, such as equipment, hard and soft services, and groundwork. “Our true offsite construction
approach maximises the amount of the manufacturing processes undertaken
IHEEM’s magazine covers the most topical issues
offsite (up to 90%), minimising disruption at live hospital sites, and ensuring that our facilities are deployed much faster than via traditional methods – since they are built and quality checked in a controlled environment. Our approach helps mitigate the traditional risks of construction projects, which can delay programmes and raise costs. Groundwork can be be completed alongside the facility being manufactured offsite.”
A full range of HVAC solutions
Mitsubishi Electric says it is excited to once again be exhibiting at a Healthcare Estates event (on Stand B63), with a full range of HVAC solutions designed to meet the sector’s needs while helping the UK achieve its Net Zero targets. The company said. “In Manchester we will be on hand to discuss our future- proof solutions for: n Decarbonisation – We have a range of commercial heat pump systems that are key to decarbonising heating and hot water; a simple solution that can replace traditional systems.
n Patient comfort – Our range of low carbon ‘cooling only’ and heat
pump chillers can connect together to provide a system capacity large enough to comfort cool an entire hospital.
n Indoor air quality – We have an advanced ventilation range, including mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR), and our HVAC systems integrate the highest levels of filtration.
n Service and maintenance – our bespoke service and maintenance packages ensure that all of our customers’ HVAC equipment is working optimally throughout its lifecycle.”
Eight decades of water controls expertise
Rada has been at the forefront of designing and manufacturing water controls and washroom products for commercial buildings in the UK for more than 80 years. It says its ‘mission’ is to create
‘intelligent’ water delivery solutions that help its customers deliver safe and sustainable water. The company added: “Rada products are known, valued, and trusted to support healthcare organisations across the globe in keeping end-users safe, prevent waterborne infections, and conserve resources.”
118 Health Estate Journal September 2023
Published 10 times a year, and in print for over seven decades, the official IHEEM magazine, Health Estate Journal (‘HEJ’), is recognised as an authoritative, topical publication covering the most important issues facing healthcare estates and facilities management and healthcare engineering
professionals, and the associated
design, architectural, and construction supply chain.
Each month the Journal, which is also
fully accessible online – features in- depth technical articles on key issues – from preventing the growth and proliferation of waterborne bacteria in hospital water systems, to making optimal use of the estate. Each issue also includes the latest sector, product, and technology-related news, plus an Institute News section reporting on recent IHEEM activities and events – including IHEEM’s seminar programme – and events undertaken through the Institute’s extensive UK Branch network. A new Training and Development section will be introduced from this month. This year HEJ is publishing this show preview and the show issues, with the latter placed into delegate bags at the event, giving those planning to attend the conference and exhibition in Manchester a flavour of what they will be able to see and hear. Copies of the journal will be available on the HEJ stand, H54, which will be manned by staff from the magazine’s publisher, Step Communications – which also publishes The Clinical Services Journal and The Care Home Environment. Recent issues of HEJ will also be widely distributed at the show.
Step Communications also produces the annual international publication, the IFHE Digest, and The IHEEM Handbook – a comprehensive guide to the Institute, its structure, branches, key events, and the many benefits of membership of the UK’s leading institute for healthcare estates and healthcare engineering professionals.
