‘Perfect IAQ solution’ launched

GPS Air says it is ‘thrilled to announce’ the upcoming release of its latest innovation in the IAQ (indoor air quality) space.

The in-space ion delivery fan (IDF-2), CE/ UKCA version is now available for the UK market. The company said: “This ceiling- mounted fan, which delivers consistent levels of air-cleaning ions, is the perfect IAQ solution for large open spaces such as waiting rooms, classrooms, and open plan offices.”

Easy to install, the revolving diffuser ensures an even introduction of ions

for optimal in-space concentration levels. The standalone model is designed for fitting into commercial drop/suspended ceilings using a standard 24 x 24 in tile footprint. GPS Air also offers an additional accessory, the IDF-CM – a mounting solution to enable the IDF-2 fan to be mounted on hard ceilings.

GPS Air says its technology ‘helps clean indoor air without producing harmful levels of ozone or other by- products’. All GPS needlepoint bipolar ionisation (NPBI) products are UL certified and CE-compliant.

Enhanced trauma care for Greater Manchester

DAY Architectural (DAY) describes itself as ‘an award-winning, diverse, proactive, forward-thinking, innovative, and collaborative architectural practice’ which is now entirely employee owned.

A nationally recognised practice, it specialises in the design and delivery of healthcare architecture throughout the UK. It said: “Healthcare design sits at the core of DAY, and our expertise spans a variety of project scales and complexities, working with multiple NHS Trusts.” One of the first eight New Hospital Programme projects to be commissioned, which DAY has designed, the new Greater Major Trauma Hospital (pictured) is scheduled to become operationally live this October. It will include five operating theatres, a 12-bay Emergency Receiving

Area, two Trauma CTs and one MRI scanner, a 16-bay Surgical Triage Unit, 72 inpatient beds, and a new helipad. It will also include several ‘firsts’ for the UK – such as the new level-access helipad providing direct unobstructed entry into the hospital via lifts, and the new RAPTOR Polytrauma Hybrid Theatre, which enables multiple trauma procedures to be undertaken in one location. DAY added: “This facility will enhance the delivery of major trauma care for the entire Greater Manchester region.”

‘a new but established approach’. The fully modular system enables easy-to- implement low extract, ‘essential for removing Nitrous Oxide, a requirement under HTM 03-01’. The system is fully retrofittable, and client specified. Possible configurations include: n Low extract only. n Supply only. n Recirculation only. n Any combination of the above, at any future time.

Alongside ‘Genesis’, Air Sentry will launch ‘Aristotle’ – a fully computerised IAQ system that can communicate to a building management system, and monitor and control multiple DC fans and air filters.
