US Quarterly Revenue Surpasses $16bn
South Dakota - Rocksino opens in Deadwood With a high-energy kick-off, the Rocksino by Hard Rock Deadwood opened its doors on August 8, becoming the first of its kind in the Hard Rock International portfolio. The grand opening included a proclamation from South Dakota, Gov. Kristi Noem, remarks from leaders of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and South Dakota Sioux tribes and a Guitar Smash featuring members of the Harley-Davidson family.
The Rocksino by Hard Rock Deadwood offers a boutique hotel and casino experience, which includes most of what fans of the Hard Rock brand have come to know but on a smaller scale than its integrated resorts in gateway international cities. The property features a casino including 86 new slot machines, a full-service restaurant and bar with craft cocktails, a new menu, and music memorabilia.

New Jersey - Hard Rock Bet launches Hard Rock Digital has launched its Hard Rock Bet platform in New Jersey. Catering to online players across the state and guests of the retail sportsbook at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, the Hard Rock Bet platform integrates online casino, sportsbook, and rewards into one frictionless experience and is available on iOS, Android, and online at

The New Jersey launch marks the debut of Hard Rock Bet’s proprietary iCasino with hundreds of slots, table games, and live dealer games. Nevada - L&W continues strong momentum Light & Wonder delivered a ninth consecutive quarter of consolidated revenue growth year-over-year for the second quarter ended June 30. Consolidated revenue in the quarter grew 20 per cent, resulting in strong margins and cash flows. The growth was driven by double-digit growth across all businesses, including another quarter of record revenues for SciPlay and iGaming.
Gaming revenue increased 21 per cent compared to the prior year period to $471m, primarily due to continued momentum in Gaming machine sales, which increased 41 per cent.

Te total outpaced Q2 2022 by 8.1 per cent and marks the 10th consecutive quarter of annual growth for the US commercial gaming industry.
Te dark days of COVID seem well and truly over for US commercial gaming which continued its long run of consecutive quarterly revenue growth in the second quarter, hitting a Q2 record of $16.07bn, according to the American Gaming Association’s (AGA) Commercial Gaming Revenue Tracker.
Te total outpaced Q2 2022 by 8.1 per cent and marked the 10th consecutive quarter of annual growth for the commercial gaming industry.
Q2 2023 is the second-highest grossing quarter in industry history, topped only by Q1 2023, making H1 2023 the commercial gaming industry’s strongest half ever. Te $32.71bn in commercial gaming revenue generated in the first six months of 2023 tracks 11.9 per cent ahead of the same period last year.
Te industry’s strong performance has resulted in an estimated $7.28bn in direct gaming tax revenue for state and local governments through the first six months of the year. Pacing 12.9 per cent ahead of last year, 2023 is on pace to generate more gaming tax revenue than any previous year.

Talking Stick Resort and Casino Arizona, enterprises of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, have announced the launch of an improved version of their mobile application.
Previously, guests would be required to check the kiosks to see current promotions such as drawings to win cash, cars or even a house. Now with the Trilogy / Sightline Mobile+ App integration, those promotional games and drawings can be at the guests fingertips on their mobile device.
Te technology allows casino guests to check in their entries into the virtual drawing drum from their mobile device and no longer has to leave their favourite slot machine or gaming table to put their entries into the drawing barrel.
“While commercial gaming is on track for an unprecedented third consecutive year of record revenue, the lasting impact we’re making on our communities through this record growth is even more impressive,” commented AGA President and CEO, Bill Miller.
While land-based gaming continues to account for more than three-quarters of total commercial revenue, the industry’s year-over- year growth is being driven by the online sports betting and iGaming sectors. Q2 revenue from land-based slots, table games and retail sports betting totalled $12.38bn, a slight increase of 0.9 per cent compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, revenue from online gaming rose 43.1 per cent year-over-year in Q2 to $3.68bn, in part driven by the introduction of mobile sports betting in Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts and Ohio within the past year.
Combined, online and land-based sports betting revenue totalled $2.3bn in Q2 2023 - an industry record for any second quarter - and a 56.6 per cent year-over-year increase. Online casino gaming tied Q1 for its highest-grossing quarter ever, generating $1.48bn in revenue.
Nevada Interblock acquires Aruze Gaming America’s ETGs
Interblock has announced a strategic acquisition of specific assets from Aruze Gaming America, a move that accelerates several of Interblock’s strategic initiatives while solidifying its commitment to delivering innovative and competitive solutions to the gaming industry.
Trough the acquisition, Interblock plans to integrate Aruze’s Electronic Table Games product line into its portfolio and expand its workforce to more than 700 employees worldwide. Te company says it is committed to a ‘seamless transition of support, service, and excellence, leveraging its robust support structure’.
“Te Aruze acquisition creates a significant portfolio of innovative synergies we intend to bring to the market before the end of this
calendar year. Aruze Gaming provides us with a new level of diversity we feel will accelerate our vision to make Interblock synonymous with table game technology,” said John Connelly, Global CEO of Interblock.
