In August the Department of Tourism launched a pilot of a new electronic visa system to speed up the arrival process. The system enables any visa-required nationality to apply for a temporary visitors’ visa online for tourism or business purposes. It was piloted for the Chinese first and was due to be rolled out completely by end 2023.
