CLEVELAND, OH — Smart Sonic is offering two main mod- els of automatic stencil cleaning systems that look and operate quite differently while providing the same cleaning efficiency. The ErgoSonic Model Stencil Cleaner has recently become the compa- ny’s most popular automatic stencil cleaner. The Model 6000 and


ErgoSonic are both fully auto- matic and produce the exact same end results. The main dif- ferences are cycle time and price. The Model 6000 is a workhorse


that can wash and rinse a 29 in. (74 cm) stencil in less than three


minutes and is recommended for users cleaning more than 20 stencils per day. The ErgoSonic can wash

and rinse a 29 in. stencil in approximately nine minutes and costs much less than the Model 6000 because it has no external moving parts. The operator loads the stencil into an empty process chamber of the ErgoSonic and simply presses one button. The wash solution is uploaded from a holding reservoir to the process chamber (three minutes), runs an ultrasonic wash cycle (two


minutes) and then downloads the wash solution through a fil- ter back to the holding reservoir (three minutes). A rinse cycle comes on for 20 seconds. So, in approximately 9 minutes the stencil can be removed from the ErgoSonic. The Model 6000 sim- ply uses an indexing “dip” process into prepared tanks. Because the ErgoSonic does not use a hoist system to move the
