WALDENBURG, GERMANY — With innovative improvements in its internal design, the latest model of WE-HCF-SMT high- current inductors from Würth Elektronik is designed to set new standards in its class. WE-HCF in the 2010 design offers signifi- cantly better characteristics than previously available induc- tors in this size, such as induc-
Flex Power Intros 80A Digital PoL Regulator
SAN JOSE, CA — Flex Power Modules has introduced the BMR474, a high power density, digital non-isolated point-of-load (PoL) regulator. Due to its vertically mounted
SIP (single inline package) design, the BMR474 saves valu- able board space, while able to deliver up to 80A output current, with a maximum power output of 198W. Designed for telecom and dat-
acom applications, the BMR474 offers an excellent price-to-per-
tance values up to 2 µH and sat- uration currents up to 25 percent greater than comparable prod- ucts in the market. The magnetically shielded
flat wire coil with MnZn core has a low resistance of 0.84 mW and low core losses. The recommended three-pin contac ting ensures mechani- cal stability of the WE-HCF, which is designed for an operating temperature of –40 to +125°F (–40 to +125°C). Potential applications
include POL regulators for FPGA, ASIC and GPU, high-efficiency DC-DC converters, high-current switching power supplies, forward converters, half-bridge and full-
bridge converters, as well as bat- tery chargers and solar inverters. WE-HCF 2010 is available imme- diately from stock with no mini- mum order quantity and the com- pany will provide free sam- ples to developers upon request.

formance ratio, and efficiency lev- els as high as 95.1 at 12 Vin, 3.3 Vout, at full load. The input volt- age range is 6 to 15V, and the out- put voltage can be adjusted from 0.6 to 3.3V. For output voltages up to
1.8V, the BMR474 can deliver up to 80A output current, while for output voltages over 1.8V the maximum output current is 60A. Ripple and noise is 5 mV at 12 Vin, 1 Vout, at full load. The SIP module includes
power connections optimized for high current, which minimizes the resistive losses between power module and load. While the high efficiency
and optimized thermal design provide minimum power derat- ing, an optional heatsink can be added for even more demanding
applications. Contact: Flex, Ltd., 6201
