July, 2021 Modular PCB Interface HARTING Offers
ELGIN, IL — HARTING’s har- modular® system, a modular PCB interface is designed for the planning and development of prototypes and series products. Earlier this year, the system won a “German Innovation Award” at the highest level of distinction. This is the third year in a row that the company has earned this particular recognition. The har-modular is a user-
configurable modular solution for PCB connectors. Depending on the requirements and intend- ed use in the device, developers can compile the required con- tacts online, such as design, number and arrangement and order them in batches down to a single system. The interface saves valuable
time for designers, while optimiz- ing the development of industrial
RoHS
devices. With over one trillion pos- sible combinations, the system offers unlimited freedom for mod- ern device developments. As a market leader in board-to-board
har-modular PCB interface.
connectivity, HARTING has cho- sen an entirely new approach and designed the system to meet the
challenges of Industry 4.0. Contact: HARTING, Inc.,

Coto Launches New TMR Magnetic Sensors
NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Two-wire interfaces are found commonly in proximity sensing functions. In many legacy designs, the proximity sensing function is implemented with a reed switch and magnet or an electromechani- cal switch that depresses when a door or lid is closed. In recent years, solid state
magnetic sensors, such as Coto’s RedRock® tunneling magnetore- sistance (TMR) sensors, have become an attractive alternative. These magnetic sensors offer extremely low power consump- tion, a very small package size, and exceptionally high reliability. Despite the more desirable
features and benefits of the TMR magnetic sensors, designers often want to keep the two-wire inter- face, either because it is less expensive or because they do not want to change the interface to the system from two- to three-wire. A solid state magnetic sen-
sor, such as a very low power RedRock TMR sensor, which con- sists of a signal, ground and power connection, can offer its benefits without sacrificing the
two-wire interface. Contact: Coto Technology,
