EAGAN, MN — Ironwood Electronics recently introduced a new BGA socket design that uses a high-performance elastomer capable of 94 GHz, very low inductance and wide-tempera- ture applications. The GTBGA- 2146 socket is designed for 0.8 x 0.7 in. (20.6 x 19 mm) package size and operates at bandwidths up to 94 GHz with less than 1 dB of insertion loss. The socket is designed to
dissipate 4.5W using a heatsink. The contact resistance is typical- ly 30 mW per pin. The socket is mounted on the target PCB with no soldering, and uses very space, allowing capacitors/resis- tors to be placed close by. Other passive components can be placed on the back side of PCB by creating custom cutouts in the stiffener plate. The socket is constructed
with a swivel lid, which incorpo- rates a quick insertion method so that ICs can be changed out

quickly. In use, the device is placed inside the socket, swivel lid engaged and downward pressure applied by turning the heat sink screw. The temperature range is
–67 to +320°F (–55 to +160°C). Contact: Ironwood Electron -

Radiant Offers High-Res Imaging Solutions
REDMOND, WA — Radiant Vision Systems has unveiled new high-resolution imaging metrolo- gy solutions for scientific test and measurement applications. Radiant’s ProMetric® imag-
ing colorimeters and photometers are chosen by manufacturers worldwide to ensure the quality of displays. For scientific metrology, ProMetric systems are optimized to balance measurement accuracy and speed for application in dis- play test labs and high-through- put production lines. ProMetric imaging systems feature optical filters that match
standard CIE color-matching func- tions, enabling light measurement that simulates the human pho- topic response. Each ProMetric measurement capitalizes on the full resolution of the system’s cali- brated and temperature-stabilized image sensor, quantifying light values such as luminance, chro- maticity and intensity across mil-
lions of data points. Contact: Radiant Vision
