ViscoTec Offers Cartridge Filling Stations for Aircraft


Kennesaw, GA — New aircraft, as well as tradi- tional manufacturing processes in the aerospace industry require innovative solutions to optimize the processing of adhesives and sealants. Many steps during dispensing and applying sealants are carried out manually. ViscoTec developed a solution: a demand-


driven filling system to fill individual cartridges with polysulfide Naftoseal MC-780B-2 from Chemetall. Precise and gentle filling is a basic re- quirement for meeting the high demands of the aerospace industry. Without influencing the com- plex overall processes, ViscoTec cartridge filling stations can contribute to cost reduction through more efficient material supply. The heart of the filling systems is the two-


component dispenser vipro-DUOMIX, which was released in 2018. The static-dynamic mixer is perfectly suited for compress- ible, two-component materials with very different viscosities, extreme mixing ratios and high-pressure sensi- tivity. Prestwick, UK — With the continu- ous quest for higher yields in elec- tronics production, the problem of void formation in solder joints, par- ticularly in BGAs and QFNs, is be- coming a critical issue. The xRe- flow™ Heated Stage is a software- controlled IR micro heater, which can be mounted inside almost any of- fline X-ray system to observe void and defect formation during reflow. The PCB with components and


solder paste is positioned in the oven and ready for observation. The X-ray tube is positioned, with magnifica- tion and focus set for the area of in- terest, the image can be either a per- pendicular or oblique view.
