LA UNCHING
Bart’s Bash 2020 THE BIG PICTURE
In a year when so many events have been cancelled or disrupted, The Andrew Simpson Foundation was delighted that its Bart’s Bash fundraiser went ahead as planned in September. Uniting sailors around the world, the global regatta has, to date, attracted over a thousand sailing clubs from almost 60 countries. Established in memory of Olympic Gold and
Silver medallist Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson, the Andrew Simpson Foundation enables young people to try sailing and other watersports. First held in 2014, Bart’s Bash is not only an important fundraising
event for the Foundation and the clubs who participate, but also an excellent opportunity for clubs to open their doors to novice sailors. Sailors of all ages and abilities are encouraged to
take part, in any class of yacht or dinghy. But the event also attracts some big-name racers – Team GB’s Dylan Fletcher was the overall winner in this year’s dinghy category.
