9 1 2 Orkney Planning Partnership

Work has begun on the Orkney Regional Marine Plan, with the development of a Planning Partnership led by Orkney Islands Council. Everyone in Orkney will

9

be invited to take part in the consultation. RYA Scotland has already commented on phase 1 of the harbours masterplan, and is trying to encourage Orkney

Islands Council to invest in small-scale marinas and visitor moorings in additional places.

Hammersmith Bridge closure The bridge was closed to pedestrians and river traffic in August following concerns of a possible sudden collapse, and is likely to remain

10

closed for the foreseeable future. It was closed to road traffic in April after cracks appeared, but it was shut completely when the cracks widened.

Dover Western Docks Revival marina

It is anticipated that the new marina will open in spring 2021. This is subject to resolving an

unexpected swell issue within the marina and the completion of the berths and landside works.

offshore wind farm Rampion 2 12 A Scoping Report has been issued, outlining

proposals to study the possibility of extending Rampion Wind Farm by a further 116 turbines. This would effectively double the current number on the site. Full details can be found at www.rampionoffshore.com.

Brighton Marina construction

10 13 12 ANNEL 11 13

There are concerns regarding proposed changes to the existing planning application to increase the density of

construction around the marina entrance. Combined with the poorly dredged

channel, this could lead to the entrance being unnavigable and unsafe for long periods either side of low water.
