Enjoy green power with Ecotricity As part of its new sustainability strategy, the RYA has formed a partnership with green energy company Ecotricity. The deal will ensure that all gas and electricity supplied to the RYA’s offices and industrial units in Hamble and Portland will be eco-friendly. One hundred per cent of Ecotricity’s electricity is generated by the wind and the sun. Alongside our actions to improve energy efficiency, this sustainable energy will dramatically reduce our buildings’ carbon footprints. The RYA’s partnership with Ecotricity also includes an incentive for RYA members to switch to green energy at home, and will support affiliated clubs and their members to understand more about the climate crisis and help them find ways to reduce their environmental impact. Any member switching their gas supply to Ecotricity will receive a £15 John Lewis voucher, and an extra £15 voucher for switching to Ecotricity electricity. The RYA’s environmental awareness programme, The Green Blue, will also receive £15 per switch.
