A good screed construction is the foundation of a good installation. To meet the many demands put upon this vital floor element, Mapei offers a wide range of levelling compounds that perform to the highest technical standards, whilst providing multiple benefits to the contractor. Best-selling ranges include Mapei Latexplan.
Mapei’s Latexplan range provides three cement-based levelling and smoothing compounds – Latexplan Trade, Latexplan Trade Fast and Latexplan No Ammonia. Each compound can be used to level new and existing floors, with thickness differences of between 3-10 mm, and is suitable for underfloor heating. All formulations are moisture-tolerant, protein-free and benefit from very low VOC/low odour formulations and have EMICODE: EC1 R Plus certification.
The standard formulation – Latexplan Trade - sets in 45-60 minutes, is light foot traffic ready after 1.5 to two hours and floors can be installed after 12 hours. This compound has a slower hardening formulation which makes it suitable for rubbing down. It is suitable for all floor applications, including areas subjected to chairs with castors and wheelchairs.
Fast-track formulation, Latexplan Trade Fast sets in 30 minutes, is light foot traffic ready after 60 minutes and can be installed upon after just 2.5 – three hours. It can be used over most adhesive residues, including bitumen, and is also suitable for castor and wheelchair traffic.
The third formulation - Latexplan No Ammonia – is a fast- setting, ammonia-free levelling compound that shares the same time frames as Latexplan Trade Fast; it sets in 30 minutes, is a foot-traffic ready surface in 60 minutes and floors can also be installed after four hours. This compound can be applied over most old adhesive residues, including bitumen, over plywood substrates and Mapei surface- applied DPMs, in most cases, without priming. It can also be applied below surface applied damp proof membranes.
