Commenting on the win, Principle’s Managing Director, Peter Smith said: “The 2018 Golden Service Awards were great, the host was lively and engaging and had everyone’s attention. It was an excellent choice of venue and the food was delicious. The awards didn't drag on which is the sign of a good event, plus they were presented well, pictures were well coordinated and well received.

We place significant value on these prestigious awards and the external recognition of the levels of service we provide cannot be understated. We only have two shopping centres within our portfolio and to have been selected as winners against such strong competition will really help us to offer our expertise to other like-minded operations in our chosen markets.”


Naturally many of the awards focused on the best cleaned premises. Winners in this area included intu Eldon Square, who earned the award for Best Cleaned Premises, Shopping Mall over one million square feet, for its work in Newcastle.


Phil Steele, General Manager at intu Eldon Square, said: “Receiving this award is testament to the dedication and hard work of the intu team that continually delivers outstanding commitment and passion to execute performances that raise cleaning standards. To win the award is an amazing achievement for the dedicated team of professionals who work around the clock to keep intu Eldon Square looking its


very best. We are feeling very proud at the moment, as well as being energised to keep up the good work!”


Julius Rutherfoord won the award for Best Cleaned Premises, Large Education Establishment. Operations Director Chris Parkes commented: “We are passionate about working in partnership with our clients to support their needs and deliver a secure and spotless environment throughout the working day. We are delighted, therefore, to have won a prestigious Golden Service Award for ‘Best Cleaned Premises, Large Education Establishment’ with our client Merton College.”


Finally, the Exclusive Group took home the trophy for Best Cleaned Premises at an Individual Retail Establishment. This was recognition for their work at Sainsbury’s in Exeter. CEO Jim Melvin said: “At the Exclusive Group, we take the Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards very seriously and like all our competitors are truly keen to be recognised for our service and to win for our clients and staff.


“We enjoy taking part in the awards process and to date have enjoyed considerable success both in terms of finalists, commendations and being category winners.
