POOP TRAIN STINKS
OUT ALABAMA TOWN The small town of Parrish, Alabama, can finally breathe a sigh of relief after months of olfactory torture.
250 tractor-trailer loads (roughly 10 million lbs) of sewage sludge and human waste sent from New York and New Jersey has been stuck on a train sitting idle in the tiny town, population 982, heating up in the sun and stinking the place out for more than two months. The town has been infested with flies and residents forced to take drastic action to avoid the stench.
Following weeks of negotiations, the poop train’s cargo is finally bound for Big Sky landfill, more than 20 miles east of Parrish, which has been accepting sewage sludge since early 2017. The delay was due to objections
