HEATING & VENTILATION | SPONSOR CUSTOMERS FIRST!|KIMO

KIMO was originally established 33 years ago in Bordeaux, France, but four years ago, KIMO Instruments UK was formed. Today, from their base in Edenbridge, Kent, KIMO supply a range of high quality calibrated instruments to the professional user. KIMO’s David Birch explained: “KIMO UK is a UK- owned business but we still work extremely closely with KIMO France, which has enabled us to offer our customers a more dedicated service.

“Nowadays, in the UK, we have capabilities in sales, marketing, technical support, warehousing and after sales, ensuring that our clients receive the attention they require and, more importantly, they deserve.”

KIMO Instruments operate in a specialist and niche market, and they take huge pride in competing on value, quality for price and customer service – something that is hard to find, even in such a competitive arena. KIMO deals with clients from a variety of areas including HVAC companies, FM companies and local exhaust ventilation (LEV) testing; pretty much anyone who measures or monitors airflow and parameters. “In order to cater for such a varied client base, we are always upgrading and launching new products,” added David.

The most recent addition to the series is the KIGAZ range of combustion gas analysers. The KIGAZ range covers the needs of the domestic boiler installer through to industrial gas heating engineers. Whether measuring two,

three or four parameters, there is an instrument to suit. All, bar the KIGAZ 150, feature built in printers. An optional wireless printer can be used with the KIGAZ 150.

All instruments have easy, intuitive menus or graphical user interfaces and come with the standard combustibles pre-programmed, but users can easily add their own if required. The instruments also have auto zeroing in the flue and built in protection to protect the sensors from being exposed to saturation levels that would damage lesser instruments. A three-year TLC service and calibration packages are also available.

With regards to the future of the company, David concluded by saying: “We strive to continue to expand in the UK. We now have a team of six, including three sales representatives on the road, meeting and supporting our customers. The future looks bright and our main aim is to increase our range of resellers in the UK from the 10 that we already have. In order to achieve this, we will place significant investment in our UK aftersales capabilities meaning we can support repairs and calibration.”
