ADVERTORIAL LEGIONNAIRES’ DISEASE – PREVENTING AN OUTBREAK
Worthing-based company, TM Electronics (UK) Ltd, leads the field in the manufacture and supply of temperature kits for the prevention of Legionnaires’ disease, and for the monitoring of sensitive or hazardous environments generally. Its waterproof thermometers and specialist probes are trusted in hospitals, care homes, schools, leisure facilities and offices throughout the UK.
MD, Tom Sensier, explained the company’s vision: “Having launched the first UK Legionnaires’ kit back in 2006, TME has consistently extended its range to meet the increasingly more specialised requirements of water hygiene companies and FMs responsible for legionella risk management. We now offer standard equipment to suit all budgets – from handy waterproof kits for engineers on the move to completely paperless recording systems.”
TME’s design and manufacturing expertise has been focussed on developing new labour-saving methods for companies faced with the mammoth task of undertaking the many thousands of tests that are carried out every year to comply with ACOP L8 Health and Safety Legislation.
TC Wall Port – a NEW low-cost innovation from TME for monitoring concealed temperature points including boxed-in TMV’s, hidden
pipework and covered water tanks. Housed in a small white box measuring just 52x52 mm, this convenient device facilitates spot checks on water test points with difficult or impaired access. It is primarily designed for use with fine wire sensors which are attached to the relevant test point and left in-situ. These wires can then be run for up to 20 metres to the TC Wall Port, which is screwed to the wall. Temperatures are taken by simply ‘plugging’ a thermometer directly into the port – much easier than dismantling boxing under sinks or using ladders to work at height.
MM7000 – Bluetooth/Barcode scanning thermometer which can record the unique location/identity of every water outlet in a building, downloadable to PC or PDA.
KS01-S Dual Purpose Surface/ Immersion probe – Instead of having to switch between probes, engineers now have the ideal solution: a single probe for taking both surface and running water measurements.
