Air Monitoring 43 Alphasense Announces Enhanced Performance Oxygen Sensors
Alphasense, are pleased to announce their latest Oxygen Sensors , currently exempt from the Restriction of Hazardous substances (RoHs) directive, they have been improved to maintain the lowest warranty returns within the safety and industrial markets.
This latest development of oxygen sensors comprising the standard 20mm A-Series of 1, 2 or 3 year warranty. Also a lower height G-Series for slim-line portable applications and the taller C-Series developed for Stack and Flue gas applications both with either 1 or 2 year warranty will soon be joined by a new 3-electrode electro-chemical Oxygen sensor with longer life. Alphasense is exploring additional technologies for lead free Oxygen sensing that will be RoHs compliant including Solid State, Optical, and Nano-Technology.
Alphasense is an independent Sensor Manufacturer and Technology Company, founded in response to an overwhelming demand from gas Detection OEMs for better quality gas sensors, the highest level of support and a viable alternative to existing suppliers.

Alphasense to Launch Low ppb Detection Level Sensors
Your air, your future ...
Alphasense, the leading technology gas sensor manufacturer for safety and industrial markets, will be launching a series of new sensors, capable of very low detection levels (ppb/parts per billion) designed as a low cost alternative for Air Quality Networks as well as our traditional market sectors.
The sensors utilise 4-electrodes and selective nano-materials with detection levels typically as low as 10ppb (parts per billion), although with recommended electronics and quality low noise components this can be reduced to 2ppb or less.
Air Quality Networks require a number of standard sensors and Alphasense can supply the three major sensor types needed,
inorganic gases (CO, H2S, NO, NO2, SO2, and O3), particulates/aerosols (PM10.0/PM2.5) and VOCs (Volatile Organic
Compounds) others such as humidity, temperature, barometric pressure, wind speed and wind direction are also required.
Arthur Burnley, Sales & Marketing Director, stated, “We are currently developing new sensor technologies for both our traditional and new markets such as Air Quality Networks. The new low ppb series of electro- chemical sensors has been developed in association with a UK Government project (MESSAGE - Mobile Environmental Sensing System Across a Grid Environment) along with a number of prestigious Universities. Field trials have been already conducted by these Universities with great success using Alphasense low ppb sensors in mobile phones, portable and fixed units, whilst a final trial is on-going at Heathrow Airport showing tremendous results. Alphasense is unique in both the level of support and consistency of product it supplies to its OEM customers, with enviably minimum warranty returns, linked to virtually 100% on time delivery.”

... our vision
Air Quality Networks Affordable wireless air quality networking has arrived combining Alphasense’s low cost and high sensitivity sensors linked with electronics, GPS, GSM and advanced data algorithms.
Applying the Alphasense ethos of product Quality & Service, the Alphasense-Air range offers a total package to OEMs for fast entry into the AQ market.
Measurement & data analysis of several environmental parameters are essential for AQ monitoring, including:
1 2 3
Inorganic gases (CO, NO, NO2 and O3) Particulates/aerosols (classified as PM10.0 and PM2.5) Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
Cost efficient gas sensors with the capability to measure very low parts per billion (ppb) concentrations are now available from Alphasense.
4-electrode toxic B-series (Ø 32mm)
CO-B4 (Carbon Monoxide) H2S-B4 (Hydrogen Sulfide) NO-B4 (Nitric Oxide) NO2-B4 (Nitrogen Dioxide) SO2-B4 (Sulfur Dioxide) O3-B4 (Ozone)
… other toxic sensors will follow
Optical Particle Counter PID-A1 (ppb/ppm VOCs) PID-AH (ppb VOCs)
