With European headquarters in Hamburg, Olympus is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of professional opto-digital products for medicine, science and industry. As a result, Olympus provides a comprehensive range for all market requirements. From microscopes for training and routine tasks to high-end system solutions in the fields of life and materials science, there is a system for every need. The product line is complemented by innovative laboratory equipment for cellular research applications and the new all-in-one microscopes offer user engagement at all levels.
Enhanced Functionality for Excellent Performance -
The Olympus LEXT OLS4000 Optical Metrology Instrument The LEXT OLS4000 confocal laser scanning microscope metrology system brings a number of additional features and enhanced functionality, including near-vertical slope capabilities, larger optical zoom and navigation overview window. The new software also brings even the most complex of processes within easy reach of a broader range of users, with the use of different user interface sheets for the main tasks –acquisition, analysis and reporting. As well as these internal functional improvements, the whole system has a sleeker look and now only requires a single control unit. The LEXT OLS4000 not only matches the challenges of the measurement laboratory, but also leads the way in establishing optical technology as the most flexible measurement systems available – Optical Metrology.
Circle no. 204 Digital Imaging for Pathology, Research and Education -
The Olympus Virtual Slide System VS110 The Olympus VS110 combines microscopy seamlessly with imaging to create a virtual slide that is an exact copy of the real specimen. Generating a high resolution image of the whole specimen, this can be viewed and analysed from the overview image at low magnification up to maximum magnification by simply zooming in. All samples can be evaluated around the world instantly and simultaneously as they are stored electronically on a central server. As a result, the VS110 is ideal for use in a number of areas including pathology, research and education.
The Olympus VS110 has recently won two awards at the first European Scanner Contest. With categories in quality, mass scanning and cytology, the Olympus VS110-S5 was the clear winner of two of the three quality awards: scanning mixed slides at 20x and 40x (0.16 µm). These highlight its ability to accurately image three pre-determined diagnostically relevant regions of interest (ROI) in ten different slides.
Circle no. 205 A Complete Concept in Personalisation -
The Olympus cellSens Life Science Imaging Software With the cellSens software for life science imaging applications consisting of three different packages: cellSens Entry, cellSens Standard and cellSens Dimension, all user requirements can be met with ease. Incorporating a unique user-definable interface, the imaging process can be personalised from start to finish, for complete control over the entire experiment. As a result, only the required tools are present at each stage, enabling everyone to image with ease, regardless of experience levels. Furthermore, each package integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Windows and Office programmes, making the advanced functionality of the Olympus cellSens family extremely user-friendly.
