25-28 August 2021

e are very much looking forward to some ‘normality’, and the return of the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta will be very

much a part of that for our town and community. Your regatta committee have been beavering away behind ‘zoom’ to make this happen!

You will see our much loved Swimming Gala, you will see the best family competition in the world: Spot the Oddity, you will be able to take part in rowing and sailing competitions, you will be able to enter the Regatta Crabbing competition, and indeed there will be so much for you and your loved ones to do and see.

If you haven’t registered yet for

the Kon-Tiki Raft race, you better hurry to our website to do so! It will happen on Saturday 21st

August at

the very start of the Regatta week. On this day too we will host our Family Funday including the now famous Regatta Dog Show, and our Silent (did you hear it in 2019?) Disco! There may even be a child friendly surf simulator!

The Coronation Park team are

super excited to announce there will be 3 (not 2) evenings to buy tickets for, in the Coronation Park Arena, and will include our Sundowner on Wednesday 25th

August with I Love Amp, the Blu Funk Allstars and James Sax with Billy Baker. On Thursday the 26th

August

a new event is born: the School Disco – family friendly - starting at 2pm, you will not fail to enjoy our ABBA tribute band ‘Take a Chance on Me’ along with many DJ sets for everyone to enjoy.

Proms in the Park is back, on Friday the 27th , and

will have a movie theme, narrated by John Suchet. We are incredibly sad to report the lovely Sid Davies, who was the conductor of the BRNC Volunteer Band, and the nicest person to know, passed away last month

after a hard fought battle with MND. He will be very dearly missed at what is arguably our highlight event of the week. We will be raising a glass to his memory on the night, and hope everyone attending will do so. Fireworks from BRNC will finish the night off. Tickets for all Coronation Park Arena events will be on sale at the Flavel Arts Centre in Dartmouth, in person or online atwww.theflavel.org.uk

There is much more to share, but nothing is of

This is just a flavour for you. We will publish all events and timings in our souvenir programme which we will have on sale from the end of July.

more importance to us than the safety of all who attend our town’s Regatta. So we will be releasing information thick and fast after the government’s June announcements for large events. Sign up for our newsletter via our new website to be kept up to date with all the latest news. You can also be a part of it – why not contact us to join our merry volunteer team?

We will continue to work as closely

as ever with the Dartmouth Town Council to put on a safe, successful and sustainable 176th Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta in 2021, and indeed DTC will return as Major

Sponsors of the Regatta alongside Dart Marina Hotel & Spa, Carter Sullivan, Darby & Darby Solicitors and Premier Marinas Noss on Dart.

We are also delighted to say that Salcombe Gin

return as Platinum sponsors and Baker Estates will also be joining them as Platinum sponsors this year. We are incredibly grateful to all our sponsors without whom we would not be able to stage the event. Their generosity equals your enjoyment. So it’s a huge shout out to all of them.

We hope to see lots of lovely faces in the

beautiful port of Dartmouth and Kingswear at the end of August and we look forward to keeping you up to date via our website.
