they could hardly contain them- selves. Someone said “party” and it was all over, but the bacon on the kitchen counter. Sashaying down the hallway


that led to the party, gave new meaning to “shake a tail feather.” Their wagging tails could no longer hide their excitement. Peanut butter was in the air, and its source must be found. Once inside the Paw-ty


Salon, the dogs - Elle, Remy, Gucci and Chanel - were asked to behave and pose for pictures. “What? With cake and cookies set before us...at eye level? Silly humans.” At first, they complied, since


someone who walks upright on two legs had a bag of dog treats. But really, how long can dogs be expected to be on their best behavior, especially when cake and cookies need to be sampled and worked over?


There was a freshly-baked dog-friendly peanut butter cake with yogurt icing sitting on a tabletop, teasing - no, wait - daring the dogs to sneak a sniff. They walked around, cautiously eyeing the scene before them. Chanel demurely took the


initiative, walking closer and placing her front paws on top of the table. She could smell the cake, but her manners instinctively kept her nose a safe distance away. Ahh, the aroma of peanut butter. It was intoxi- cating. Gucci and Remy stood warily behind her - watching, waiting. Could this be a trap, they wondered? Then suddenly, brave little


Elle brazenly jumped on top of the table. She daintily turned around a few times and sat down. When the humans did nothing but laugh and applaud, all of the dogs knew, this was their moment. Take it now, or forever lose the chance to dive, nose first, into that Peanut Butter Cake! Dog Heaven On Earth.


Party boy Remy saw an opportunity and chomped on it.When someone hands you a whole cake, you do not go gentle into the night.


Every dog received their own slice of cake. It’s good to be a dog.
