WOMEN LEADERS GROUP LAUNCHED

A Northampton-based company has launched an exciting new programme to empower women business leaders. Power2Progress created the

Power2Rise coaching group for women leaders who want to seize their power as confident, influential professionals. Company director Anjana Rajani

(pictured) said: “We created this coaching group to support women in leadership. Despite their success, something

I regularly hear from the women I work with is ‘I reached success, but

I don’t feel it. I often feel like a fraud’. “I also realised that not being

able to confidently persuade, influence and communicate with impact is the biggest danger to female executives. Unless we tackle this challenge from its root cause - our conditioning - poor influence skills will stop us from reaching our potential professionally.”

TRAINING FIRM RAISES FUNDS

A training company raised nearly £1,500 for charity during its 25th anniversary year. The Development Company, based in Earls Barton,

offers a variety of training and development courses, including tailored training, open courses, e-learning and ready-made courses. The company has two office cats which it rehomed

from Animals In Need and throughout the firm’s anniversary year it raised money for the animal charity. Director Kay Buckby said: “Between March 2019 and

February 2020 we donated £25 for each day of training booked with us, or with each purchase of one of our online qualifications, to the charity. The amount donated from Northamptonshire Chamber open and bespoke courses delivered by us was £350.” The firm has also been working hard during the past

few months to support businesses and employees during the Covid-19 pandemic. Kay said: “This is a tough time for businesses,

however furloughed staff can still do online learning. We have been running two online qualifications - a level 5 Training Qualification and a level 5 Coaching

Qualification – which are both ITOL qualifications. We’ve also offered our usual courses as online zoom training sessions.”

GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND

A local firm which delivers ILM leadership and management training used the latest technology to make sure one of its delegates did not miss a vital training session. Prior to the introduction of

social distancing, Beyond Theory was running the latest session of its ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) Engaging Leadership training programme which it delivers for delegates at Northamptonshire Chamber’s training suite. One delegate was unable to

attend in person so Beyond Theory senior consultant Paul Beesley set up a live, interactive video link so they could take part. Paul said: “We’re all about

creative thinking and problem solving and we like to ‘walk the walk’. We made things happen to make sure the delegate would not miss out on the session. “Through the video link she

played a full part in the course which enabled her to complete her ILM accreditation. A true win-win.” The ILM course is designed

for team leaders and managers who need to increase their management skills, improve their leadership skills and boost their confidence in managing and developing others. Now that self-isolation and social distancing are becoming the norm, future ILM courses will be delivered online for the immediate future. A delegate who is studying

the ILM course said: “It’s great that it can be used to keep the training going.” As a response to Covid-19,

Beyond Theory has also designed 12 bite-size learning modules to help managers deal with self-isolation and social distancing. For details visit www.beyondtheory.co.uk To find out more about the
