BUSINESS REPORT EXPERTS RECOGNISED FOR SERVICE

A team of experts who offer peace of mind to farmers and agricultural businesses are celebrating after being recognised at a county awards ceremony. NFU Mutual Market Harborough

prides itself on providing a face to face and friendly service to the businesses it insures. The team was thrilled to be

named Runner-Up in the Service Industry category at the Harborough District Business Awards which were held at the beginning of March. Linzie Maycock, who took over

the NFU Mutual Market Harborough agency in 2013 with Tom Shepherd, said: “We found out we were finalists at the end of last year and were thrilled to attend the awards ceremony in Market Harborough in March. “The top three finalists in each

CYCLE4CYNTHIA WILL RIDE AGAIN

The county’s favourite annual charity bike ride, Cycle4Cynthia, has raised almost £600,000 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice over its 16-year history. Much of this has come from local

businesses which have given financial support or provided work for free. Leading commercial law firm and Chamber member, EMW, is the fundraiser’s lead sponsor for the third year running. CEO Joy Vollans said: “We’re

delighted to be headline sponsors again and we’ll be leaping into our saddles to take part. Knowing we’re raising funds for Cynthia Spencer while doing something we enjoy is brilliant.” Fundraising manager John Helm

said: “The hospice has to find more than £1m each year so, whether you’re a business that can support us financially, feel you can donate your services or want to take part in our Bike4Bedtime challenge, we’d love to hear from you.” Proceeds from the ride will also

help fund the hospice’s Wellbeing service, which aims to help those with a life-limiting illness to live their life as fully as they can. The fundraising event will be held on 20 September, at Lamport Hall.
