BUSINESS REPORT
GROWTH FOR ID CARD CENTRE
A thriving firm of access control and membership card experts has experienced further growth. Since 2018, Northampton-based
ID Card Centre Ltd has moved to larger premises to accommodate its growth plans, invested in its workforce and technology and won numerous awards. Their success led to the
acquisition of two more businesses, Plastic-ID and Reward-It, from the Resbourne Group in January. Company director Nicola O’Brien
said: “They approached us about buying them due to our growth in customer service and technical support capacity, our reputation, resilient growth plan and the recognition we’ve gained in winning awards. Plastic-ID was a direct competitor so acquiring it has enabled us to gain market share while reinforcing our product portfolio. Reward-It specialises in loyalty and gift cards systems and consumables and supplies retail with price sign printers and consumables so this gave us a product range for the retail industry. I’m looking forward to working in this area as I used to own a shop myself.”

Sam Lee of dbfb with Christopher Duff of Age UK Northamptonshire SUPPORTING IMPORTANT WORK
Northampton-based communications specialists dbfb have a strong sense of social responsibility and are keen to invest heavily back into the local community. In 2020, they are proud to be partnering with Age UK Northamptonshire, to support the life-changing work the charity does supporting 15,000 older people every year. dbfb will use its communications expertise to help
save the charity money and improve the efficient delivery of their services. Business expertise and support of this nature is crucial for third sector organisations, who often have to focus resource on service delivery. dbfb’s knowledge of digital communication promises to see improvements in back-office processes. dbfb’s sales and marketing director, Sam Lee, met Age UK Northamptonshire’s business relationship
manager, Laura Graham, and chief executive, Chris Duff, at the Northamptonshire Business Awards. Sam was inspired by the breadth of services offered
and the impressive track record of this well-established organisation. He was also saddened to learn about the challenges they face with cuts in public health and local authority funding for services that are growing in demand. Chris Duff said: “We are very pleased to be gaining
dbfb’s support for our work and for a number of useful projects that will help our clients. We have seen the need for our services grow as funding has been cut. We are looking forward to dbfb helping us to utilise technology more effectively so that we can continue to improve as an organisation and positively impact a growing number of clients.”
