NEW CAR PARK FOR SPECIALIST HR FIRM

A new employee car park is the latest in a series of projects being delivered for HR and payroll software and services firm MHR, by regional construction firm Stepnell. The 190-space, four-floor facility

is being built as part of the Ruddington-based company’s expansion and is the fourth project worked on by Stepnell in the last four years to future-proof the site for current and future employees. MHR is a specialist provider of

HR and payroll software and outsourced services responsible for processing in excess of 2.3m people’s pay across the UK. Thomas Sewell, Stepnell regional

director, said: “We’re delighted to be working on another project with MHR, a major employer in its local area and whose products and services have a great reputation across the UK. “Having been involved in both

new builds and refurbishments for MHR in the past, we’ve developed a good understanding of not only our client, but the type of finished product MHR expects. “Relationships like this are

important, because it leads to open and honest dialogue that ensures any challenges can be addressed effectively.”

COMMUNITY HUB IN CALL FOR EQUIPMENT

SCCYC’s Community Hub, the Waterside-Connect Centre in St James Mill Road, Northampton, is near completion. The centre is in the Waterside

Enterprise Zone and will serve residents from the town centre, St James Ward and Castle Ward, as well as Northamptonshire’s BAME communities. Most of its expected beneficiaries reside in the lowest 10% indices for multiple deprivation of poverty, health inequality and migration challenges and SCCYC is asking businesses to back its Sponsor An Item Appeal, make donations and volunteer skills. SCCYC trustee Amarjit Atwal

said: “We need support to buy industrial equipment for our kitchen in the Waterside-Connect Centre as well as learning equipment and furniture. The support will be promoted to more

than 15,000 people through our e- bulletins and social media. “Major donors will be promoted

on website links, our brochure, plaques in reception and meeting rooms.” An estimated

10,000 people will benefit through SCCYC’s new social enterprise ‘Punjabi Fusion CIC’ - a fusion of healthy East meets West lacto- vegetarian catering, which will generate profits to support disadvantaged local people. There will be free hot food, a dry

food bank for disadvantaged and vulnerable people. The centre will offer healthy cookery classes, medicinal soups and teas to improve people’s health.

Training and voluntary ‘WE NEED

experience will be available to help unemployed people into employment. There will be a healthy café and a hospitality service for events, meetings and conferences. There will also

REUNION LUNCH BRINGS FRIENDS TOGETHER

Ladies from all corners of the country came together for a reunion at the end of January, affirming that friendships forged in one’s school days really do stand the test of time. Over 130 alumnae and friends of Northampton High – from both the

Derngate and the Hardingstone sites – assembled for the annual Alumnae Reunion Lunch at the Newport Pagnell Road-based school. The school’s catering team served a delicious lunch that was thoroughly

enjoyed by all. “This event just gets better each year,” commented one former staff

member, a sentiment echoed by many of the guests. Amanda Wilmot, director of marketing and admissions, said: “The

lunch is a key component of the school’s alumnae programme, which celebrates lifelong association with the school. The Northampton High alumnae are part of the GDST alumnae network, spanning the world and every professional sector. With over 70,000 members, the GDST network offers a professional community unlike any other. “Sincere thanks go to all who came for making this a treasured

highlight of the alumnae calendar, and special appreciation for the committee of dedicated ladies on the OGA Committee.”
