IN THE SPOTLIGHT: MOTORSPORT & HIGH PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING
IN THE SPOTLIGHT
JRM, who secured the first win for Bentley in their new second- generation Continental GT3 at the opening round of British GT in 2019, is returning for more after securing a plum driver pairing. Martin Plowman and Strictly
Come Dancing champion Kelvin Fletcher, who are already British GT4 champions, have begun preparations for their debut season in GT3 alongside their new team. JRM, previously World Champions racing with Nissan, are fierce competitors with titles, wins and podiums in GT, LMP1, Rally and Rallycross. Managing director Jason King
said: “To head back to the championship with this high-profile driver pairing, straight off the back of Kelvin’s Strictly win, is great for the team. We worked with Martin in 2015 and knew his talent would be a real asset to us. “Martin’s partnership with Kelvin
is something most teams dream of – they work well together and their GT4 title is testament to that. Kelvin’s lap times in testing the Bentley were impressive and his work ethic is second to none, as the public will have seen over the last few months, proving he’s more

easy decision for us – we share the same ambitions for the season and the future too; their strategy and determination mirrored ours.” Kelvin added: “JRM’s stature
within motorsport as world- championship winners in GT racing is something we’re really going to
benefit from – their engineering expertise and how they use data to approach their car, season and races is unparalleled so I’m looking forward to using that to develop my driving as we go into the next class.” Kelvin revealed the team’s plans

TURBO TECHNICS ENGINEERS ANOTHER SUCCESS
A Northampton-based engineering company specialising in the manufacture of turbochargers and turbocharger calibration equipment will soon launch its latest product – the S290. Turbo Technics’ S290 is an all-
out performance turbocharger for the Mk7 Fiesta ST, which so far appears to be exceeding the firm’s target horsepower rating of 400bhp. This new offering will complete the range, consisting of the entry-level S270 (rated at 300bhp) and the S280 (350bhp), which is rapidly gaining popularity in the US market too. Originally founded by Geoff

years the business has evolved to cater for the needs of a changing market, branching out into turbocharger remanufacturing and the design and manufacture of high speed VSRTM balancing machines and flow calibration equipment. These machines are widely considered to set a ‘world standard’ by the industry and are sold all over the world. Design and development engineer Matt Jewell said: “We are incredibly excited by the results from our testing and are pleased to have exceeded our peak performance target. We look forward to the release and hope for a similar level of commercial success as with our previous developments for the Fiesta Market.”
