IN THE SPOTLIGHT: COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING PR FIRM PUTS FOCUS ON NETWORKING
Joining Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce has given one PR company a new focus for 2020. Pilkington Communications, led
by director Jessica Pilkington and head of PR Kim Hughes who collectively have more than 50 years public relations and journalism experience, expanded into new offices in Northampton’s Mobbs Miller House last summer and this year signed up to the Chamber. Jessica said: “Expanding into new offices was exciting and, once we’d settled in we focused on raising our own profile – revamping our website and social channels, creating new business cards and launching a new PR toolkit. Having encouraged so many clients to join the Chamber over the years we decided to take our advice and do the same.” Kim added: “We had a clear plan
to develop the business and making the most of the Chamber’s networking opportunities has been one of our priorities. Meeting so many members has already been
so fruitful and we look forward to meeting more members this year.” Pilkington Communications
‘WE’VE
EMBARKED ON SOME REALLY INTERESTING PR AND MEDIA RELATIONS ACTIVITY RECENTLY’
counts several Chamber members as its clients, including Rockingham Castle, logistics company Fortec Distribution Network and charity Teamwork Trust. Kim added: “We’ve embarked on some really interesting PR and media relations activity recently. We worked with Fortec Distribution Services to raise the profile of its prestigious annual awards ceremony with social media-
friendly videos and
regional trade media coverage. “We organised VIP and press
events to boost ticket sales at Rockingham Castle’s events – with the weekend Victorian Christmas experience proving a sell-out. We also arranged a huge photoshoot at Teamwork Trust and worked on a new promotional brochure which tells the story about the charity’s services.”

A merchant that sells any product can use our system in order to allow affiliates to market their product and be rewarded by way of commission for each sale they provide to the merchant. This can assist anybody from carpenters, mechanics to dental practices or accountants who wish to reward someone for recommending their service or product. Our system tracks the conversion and enables the merchant to observe their dashboard and pay the affiliate themselves.
Currently we have a team of developers in several countries around the world, including Thailand and Macedonia, while our head office is in Northampton.
At the moment, we have around 20 consumer websites that offer a range of services from adult dating, gambling, finance, and Nutra. We are trialing new technology that has been built exclusively in house which will enable customers to receive automated updates on their campaigns direct to a designated portal.
We enjoy working with new businesses who want to expand their customer base and encourage people to spread the word of their brand, and we can do this through our affiliate portal. Our customers to date have been very pleased with the growth that our systems produce for them and we hope that our new technologies will encourage more and more businesses to consider affiliate networking to boost the profitability of their business.
