Energy-saving partnership is inspired By Dan Harrison

A partnership between utility consultants Inspired Energy and Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce has made a successful start.

Inspired Energy became the Chambers’ preferred utility partner in September and have already been involved in several high- profile events including the Autumn Expo, Future Faces awards dinner and the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce dinner and awards.

The partnership has been

beneficial to both sides, with Inspired Energy growing its visibility across the region, as well as providing the Chambers’ 3,000 members access to an extensive range of utility solutions and benefits. Paul Faulkner, chief executive at

GBCC, said: “Energy and utilities are crucial resources for any business. However, these can often be costly resources, so the service Inspired Energy provide in helping firms get the most for their money is invaluable. Not only has the

Chamber’s partnership helped us to make significant savings within our own business, it is now allowing many of our member companies the opportunity to explore how they can reduce their energy bills through the offer of a free energy health-check.” The Chambers have seen first-

hand the benefits of Inspired Energy’s solutions. The organisation’s energy usage is managed by the consultancy. Shakir Whayeb, director of IT

and premises at GBCC, said: “With

over 30 businesses residing at Chamber House, utilities cost is a substantial part of our building management budget. With the help of our partner, Inspired Energy, we are able to achieve significant savings on our energy spend.” Ben Beetham, director of

partnerships at Inspired Energy plc, added: “In a small space of time, we’ve forged some great relationships within the West Midlands business community, and we’re excited to continue this good work into 2020 and beyond.”
