Always Rooting For You.

Thanks to our restaurant advertising partners, we’re able to co-host fundraising events to benefit many animal advocacy causes across Florida, throughout the year. We partner with rescue groups, shelters, and animal welfare programs to help raise money and awareness. And, we have a fun time doing it.

Pete & Shorty’s Clearwater+Pinellas Park

It took less than two months to plan a two-hour event that raised more than $7,000 for the Humane Society of Pinellas. Thanks to the Pete & Shorty’s executive team, their entire staff and to Tito’s Handmade Vodka. And thanks to all of the guests who supported the shelter by attending. The Hot! Hot! Hot! Yappy Hour June event was a collaborative effort between the shelter’s executive director Kelli Chickos, her staff and The New Barker. The money raised helped purchase industrial fans for the outdoor shelter runs. (Top left): Pete & Shorty. (Top Right): Bob Hite, with his dog Flynn. Nancy Alexander was our fab emcee. Marsha Lee, our co-host (and mom to Pete and Shorty).

The HONU Dunedin

The New Barker recently partnered with The HONU for the Tiki Tails Sunday Brunch, to benefit Frankie’s Friends. The non-profit foundation pro- vides funding to assist families who

demonstrate substantial financial need and whose pets, with treatment, have a good prognosis for return to a good quality of life. It’s been described as kind of a St. Jude’s Hospital for pets by Eddie DeBartolo, who

has supported Frankie’s Friends since 2005, both personally and through the DeBartolo Foundation. FrankiesFriends.org (Top Clockwise): Fergie, a Lab, was helped through a

Frankie’s Friends grant. Coco brought her humans, Douglas and Rick, from Ybor City. They follow The New Barker on Instagram and that’s how they knew about the Brunch. “It was our first time at The HONU and we’ll be back,” said Douglas. “And it was good to learn about Frankie’s Friends.” Suki and Bebe Meoni brought their humans, Mike and Melody. They didn’t have to travel far, since they live in Dogeden.
