LAURA ALLEN & LUCY She has created thousands of beautiful pet portraits since 1996. Laura is also a firm believer in giving back to her community. Her photos have graced the pages of The New Barker since 2006. In this issue, Laura’s work is featured in two articles. Pages 40 and 44.


JO MALDONADO & BEAR In 2014, Jo completed a series of studies on how human body language affects animals, including horses and dogs. Her findings have led her to help shelters across Central Florida. Read her story on one such shelter. Page 54.


LON MARTIN & GUINNESS With Guinness as her muse, Lon has provided a lot of furry fodder for us since 2007. Her keen observations of this little Corgi with a big heart and his superhero cape continue to make us smile. Read Life from A Dog’s Perspective. Page 100.


DIANE ROSENBERG & COOPER They work together, covering events and representing The New Barker in the Jacksonville area, including Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island and St. Augustine. When you see this joyous team around town, stop and say hello, and be sure your dog smiles for the camera. You never know.


HEATHER SCHULMAN & PUCK As part of our team for 10 years, Heather represents The New Barker on the housing committee for St. Petersburg’s Better City for Pets initiative, PAWS. She tackles the issue of pet-friendlier apartments in her interview with Stephen Bardy, executive director, Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. Page 18.


JAIME SEYMOUR-NEWTON & BANNER Covering Miami- Dade and the Florida Keys for us with her photo journalism since 2011, Jaime is also an animal advocate. She opens her home to foster and puppy raise. She assists in animal transports when needed. A stunning photo of hers opens our article on training. Page 58.


JACQUI SILLA & ANGEL She has combined her skills as a dog trainer and her talent as a commercial photographer for The New Barker since 2007. Her kindness and gentle style have helped many dog owners across the Tampa Bay Area. Her work is featured in our article on Chris Godwin. Page 48.

DEBRA STARR & JIPSEE She volunteers as the marketing and PR director for Animal Network. She also volunteers at Manatee County Animal Services, while helping the county maintain its goal of being a sustainable no kill community. Take a look behind the scenes of a shelter, Part II, on page 32.


ANNEYARBROUGH & RUDEE Covering Manatee County for us, Anne’s favorite subject is photographing chaotic pets with their people. She’s developed a style that combines posed portraiture with the natural look of lifestyle photography. Sonny, her adorable baby girl, is Anne’s muse.
