These can be applied to superficial wounds, cuts and lacerations after cleaning and disinfecting. Application 2-3 times per day is best. •Cotton Socks - These can be used to cover the paws if
there is a paw injury, but can also be cut to make other band- aging material if needed. •Saline Eye Wash - Used to flush wounds and lacerations as
well as clean and flush the eyes. Due to the sensitive nature of the eyes, seek veterinary care immediately with any eye issue. Prior to seeking veterinary care, Saline Eye Wash can be used if shampoo or other medications were to get into, or on the eye. •Ace Bandage Material - This can be used as a temporary
pressure bandage to help reduce bleeding or bodily fluids. Application of Ace Bandages, except in cases of extreme emer- gency, should only be used under veterinary supervision. •Vet Wrap or self adhering wrap - A bandage material that
will not stick to the skin, fur or a wound and can stretch to apply pressure. Just as with any other bandage material, do not apply so that excessive pressure is present and may cause a tourniquet effect. You can purchase pre-made pet first aid kits or make one
on your own, using the above items. Be prepared to care for your pet when emergencies arise or minor accidents occur, until you can seek veterinary care. The American Cross has online classes for Pet First Aid at
