Bark in the Park.

Bradenton

Dog Days of Summer

Bark in the Park promotions have been so successful for MLB that many Minor League teams hosted several during the season. The Bradenton Marauders hosted four during their season and designated their June 22 Bark in the Park promotion The New Barker Day. It

was a first time outing for Teddy, the Corgi puppy (top left). We also met Officer Magown and K9 Maverick. The Bradenton Marauders purchased and donated Maverick to the Bradenton Police Department. As a detection dog, Officer Magown and Maverick “sweep” the stadium for explosives prior to every game.

Clearwater

The New Barker co-hosted seven Dog Days of Summer with the Clearwater Threshers, this year. Money from dog tickets sales was donated to a different 501c3 each game. GREAT (Greyhound Rescue & Adoption), Husky Haven, Limbo Chihuahuas, Canine Estates, SPCA Tampa Bay, Florida Boxer Rescue, Dogs on Deployment. Entertainment prior to the first pitch of each game was provided by The Ohana Dog Show.

Phinley, Clearwater Threshers mascot, poses with a couple of guests. Tucker enjoyed the complimentary dog treats from Josh’s Fireshouse Dog Treats.

Yappy Hour at Shuckers Oyster Bar on the Amelia River takes place the first Saturday of every month. The event helps support Friends of Animals in Nassau (FAN). Sponsors include Red Bones Bakery and Hot Paws Resort & Grooming. Thanks to The New Barker rover reporters Cooper and Diane Rosenberg (top right) for covering the event. 86 THE NEW BARKER

Benny celebrated his birthday with a party at the Tiny Tap Tavern in Tampa, thanks to his human, Kasey Furlong. The Tavern was taken over by Benny’s friends (human and canine) with the money raised going to the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study, one of the

Tampa

largest, most comprehensive prospective canine health studies in the U.S. Conducted by Morris Animal Foundation.
