Corgi Races

Seminole The new BarkLife Market, Daycare, Boarding & Grooming has officially opened. The grand opening brought in tons of loyal customers and plenty of potential new ones. The 70- room, 14,000 sq.ft. luxury pet resort features four pools and indoor/outdoor parks. The luxury suites include PetChatz, a cool way to see, talk and remotely dispense a treat to your dog.

Pins For Paws

Crystal River Tampa

Hundreds of dog lovers and race fans attended this year’s Corgi Races at Tampa Bay Downs. More than 80 dogs competed in 10 heats, running (er, waddling?) about 50 yards on the track (hey, short legs, short race). The fundraising event

raised more than $3,500 for Sunshine Corgi Rescue.Tragically, a few weeks after the successful event, Joe and Cyndi Cavanaugh, rescue coordinator volunteers and co-organizers of the races, were in a terrible car accident that took Cyndi’s life. SunshineCorgieRescue.org

Pet & Family Photo Day with Laura Allen Studios

Samuel L. Jackson, an English Mastiff, had the duty of sniffing the bowling shoes during check-in at Crystal River’s Manatee Lanes. Pins For Paws was a fundraising event for The Green Side Haven, a last chance forever home. The sanctuary is in need of foster home volunteers. In 2018, they lost a lawsuit brought against them by the Pine Ridge Homeowners Association. The judge ruled against the sanctuary, stating that the nonprofit was a business, and could not continue to house the senior and ill dogs on the private property. (Canine Estates Sanctuary in Palm Harbor lost a similar case in Pinellas County, earlier in 2019.) For more information, visit TheGreenerSideHaven.org or call 352.513.2063.

Pet & Family Photo Days with Laura Allen Studios raised $1,200 for Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida (LRRoF.org). Special thanks to Dog Bar St. Pete for hosting the event and Tito’s Handmade Vodka. Laura Allen Studios will be back at the Dog Bar St. Pete on November 10.
